About Us

  Why we are here?

Our history goes back to the middle of the seventeenth century when the community worshipped in a cottage in Walmsgate. Later there were two Baptist Churches in Barnoldswick, Bethesda and North Street and in 1971 they became one church.

In the mid seventies we opened the Baptist Church Centre on Manchester Road as a multi purpose building.

We have always tried to serve the community and for over twenty years Ickthus Youth Club and the Barnoldswick Luncheon Club met twice a week serving the needs of young and old.  The parents and toddler group on a Tuesday & Thursday continue to serve young parents in Barnoldswick.

Who are we?

Within our congregation there is represented a variety of ages and occupations.  Many are involved in differing aspects of local community life.

The congregation has active links with many parts of the world including Nepal, Kosova and Prague.

Members have been involved in the ‘Drop the Debt’ campaign and are involved in Fairtrade and Trade Justice Movement.

Together with other Christian congregations in West Craven we are also committed to Christian Aid.

Worship

You are warmly invited to the morning service at 10-30am each Sunday.

Holy Communion is normally celebrated on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of each month.

A service of Contemporary Praise and Worship at 6-30pm on 2nd Sunday each month.

See 'What's On for details of all the services in the West Craven Baptist Fellowship.

The Future

As a church we are always seeking ways of sharing the love of God with others as we seek to serve him in his world.  We are currently looking at ways to develop our work with families, children and young people.  To this end we have started a Tuesday Club at 6-30.

We have called the Revd. Matt Jones to serve the three churches in West Craven and together we continue to seek God's will for us.
