FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Revd. Matt Jones inducted to Ministry at West Craven Baptist FellowshipIn 1988 the three Baptist churches in West Craven: Barnoldswick, Mount Zion Earby and Salterforth signed a covenant in which they promised to support each other in Christian growth and witness. Today, twenty years on, the West Craven Baptist Fellowship moves into a new and exciting stage of its development. The desire to work more closely together has been growing steadily over the last few years and, with the help of the Yorkshire Baptist Association, the churches have explored and initiated new ways of working. Today is a significant milestone as Matt Jones is inducted to the pastorate of the fellowship. Matt will be the leader of a ministerial team which will be developed over the coming months and years. Matt has been in some form of ministry for the last fifteen years; six years in youth work led to three years ministerial training before moving to Derby as minister of Junction Baptist Church where he and the family have been for the last six years. Matt and Sarah have been married for twelve years and come to the West Craven Baptist Fellowship with their three sons Tim, Ben and Manny. Matt and Sarah's shared faith and commitment to Christian service has led them through some struggles, challenges and adventures, but the one thing that they hold onto is God's continuing guidance and provision. Ultimately this is what is bringing them to Barlick, Earby and Salterforth. Today as Matt, Sarah, Tim, Ben and Manny become part of the West Craven Baptist Fellowship, none of us knows where and how God will lead us. What we do know is that there is a commitment to grow together and serve the communities in which we live and worship as we all move forward into the next chapter of our Christian journey.
